The Fiji Meat Industry Board (FMIB) was established under the Fiji Meat Industry Act 237 of 1970 that provides abattoir services in Nakasi and Vuda, Viti Levu. FMIB seeks to recruit dynamic and highly motivated individuals.
Manager Operations —Nakasi
The Operations Manager is responsible for the overall planning, coordination, management and continuous improvement of the Fiji Meat Industry Board’s operational activities. The position ensures that the abattoir operates efficiently, safely and profitably while meeting customer expectations, complying with all statutory and food safety requirements, and supporting the strategic objectives of the organization.
The Operations Manager provides leadership to operational staff, manages resources effectively, maintains high standards of animal processing, hygiene and environmental management, and promotes sustainable business growth.
Key Requirements:
- Lead and motivate teams to achieve organizational objectives using a disciplined approach;
- Maintain operational assets to maximize efficiency and reliability.
- Proven ability to work closely with marketing strategies and aligning production requirements to meet market expectations;
- Build effective relationships with customers, livestock suppliers, regulators, and understand market preferences and conditions;
- Identify operational technical risks and implement practical long term solutions to improve business performance.
- Bachelor’s degree in agriculture, Animal Science, Food Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Proven track record of leading to minimize production costs leading to high efficiencies in the business.
- Ability to understand technical production lines and provides annual scheduled maintenance for FMIB before the commencement of a new year.
